Welcome to Ready To Cab.com. We offer rough and sliced rock for the rockhound & jewelry maker. We can deal in material that allows the person with the smallest amount of equipment to create a cabochon. We offer a variety of rocks and minerals, some of our material even comes from areas that are now closed to collecting. We sell as little as one slice to multiple slices and a mixed variety of material.

We provide material to people from novices to masters in that they can get individual pieces rather than buying a large chunk of rock which may or may not be good all the way through.
The shapes of our slabs are the natural shape as cut from the rock so some of them allow for freeforming rather than standard template shapes, for those that wish to experiment.
Some slabs are suitable for inlays, intarsia, painting, or other craft projects.

The benefit of buying the slabs is that you can see the possibilities of the finished product by location of the pattern. Also reduces the weight for shipping, and the less desirable material has been removed and most fractures become visible when the stone has been slabbed. The user does not have to have a slab saw or travel to the out of way places to collect rough material. For those that do not own any type of saw we can supply one cab size rough slab or preforms. Slabs can be cut with a wheel type device such as a glass cutter and a saw may not be required.

We have a lot of experience making finished cabs from a wide variety of material and will sometimes make suggestions for how a slab might best be used.

Remember that you buy a slab for the one special cab you see in it, anything else is a bonus. This creates opportunities for creative use of the remainder.

If a particular type or color of material is wanted please contact us at readytocab@gmail.com
